I was in a quilt shop in St. Charles, MO. The reason I was in the quilt shop, when I was not a quilter, is unknown. Maybe, I was there because I love fabric and the outside of the shop was charming. Also, I think it was divine intervention.
Entering the shop, was overwhelming. There was so much fabric that it was difficult to maneuver around.
But, I endured. While browsing, I overheard a conversation about the "Dear Jane" quilt. I was hooked.
At this time, I had several loves, in order of their importance: dancing, traveling, history, and fabric.
The minute I heard the "Dear Jane" story, quilting became my new passion.
I think I bough over $400 worth of fabric that day. I still remember the owner's expression.
I think she thought I was crazy. She got over it.
